Following another strong year – with a turnover of £21m and over half of this originating from recurring services – leading IT Services and Solutions provider Blue Chip share their plans for business growth as they move into their 25th year of operation.
Blue Chip have continued to build their customer base, capability and teams as they transition from one-off hardware and software sales to recurring Managed Services, and have invested substantially in their people and processes. With the appointment of Oliver Bruffell as the new General Sales Manager, the opening of a new London office and the launch of a brand new website, 2016 has been a busy year and has paved the way for expansion going into 2017.
A key part of this strategy is the growth of their IT Managed Services provision. “The work we do with our existing clients highlights how valuable our Managed Services offerings are to them, and we work closely with our clients to fine tune and expand them in order to provide an even better service at a lower cost,” explains Blue Chip’s Managing Director, Richard Cook. “We are developing Intellectual Property which will allow us to automate some of the recurring proactive maintenance services we offer, reducing the cost our customers pay for their Managed Services and giving even more value for money”.
In addition to this, Blue Chip have invested further in ServiceNow, their 24/7 Service Desk Platform. Cook continues, “I believe that the ability to offer true 24/7 support and monitoring as standard to all our customers really sets us apart from other providers. However, this doesn’t mean we are complacent; we still strive to continually improve our services. To this end, we have recently invested in cutting-edge security solutions such as unified security management platform AlienVault, ensuring that our customers are protected from the ever-evolving threats coming from the web. With malware and security breaches on the rise, no business can afford to take their systems’ security lightly.”
AlienVault offers real-time threat intelligence updated every 30 minutes with the latest information from the AlienVault Labs, whose teams of experts analyse thousands of pieces of data to identify and protect from emerging threats and vulnerabilities. This best-of-breed technology affords all customers 24/7 security monitoring in addition to the round-the-clock support and monitoring already received. Blue Chip’s newly-formed Security team, consisting of highly-trained and knowledgeable Security Consultants, provides an extra layer of protection for security-conscious customers. The teams are also hard at work developing the latest of Blue Chip’s Managed Service packages – a Security Managed Service.
Finally, Blue Chip are further extending their popular Cloud offerings to offer their customers greater choice and flexibility, and will be offering Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Service Infrastructure as a Service. “Up to now we have felt that public Cloud platforms have fallen short of delivering what is required to replace a traditional on-premise infrastructure, but these services have really matured; Azure had no British presence until recently, but now has a datacentre here in the UK,” says Cook. “While we are exceedingly proud of our private Cloud provision, we understand that there isn’t a one-size-fits all solution, and we always work closely with our customers to understand their unique business needs before using our expertise to recommend the best solution or combination to suit them. By working with Microsoft and Amazon to offer public, private and hybrid Cloud, this gives our clients even more options to decide what works best for them. With Blue Chip celebrating a quarter of a century as experts in our field in April, we are collectively very excited to continue delivering service excellence into 2017 and beyond.”
