Crescent Yamaha Are On Track With Blue Chip

Blue Chip are proud to mark their 10th year supporting Crescent Racing with a new Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution.

Leading IT Services and Solutions Company Blue Chip have been both a sponsor and IT partner of Crescent Racing for a decade as the company has flourished, including the recent switch of Superbike partners from Suzuki to Yamaha. Blue Chip have supported Crescent in successfully delivering a variety of IT projects, most recently upgrading them from an on-premise infrastructure to Blue Chip’s Private Cloud Platform.

As a business that is constantly busy and heavily dependent on their IT infrastructure, Crescent could not afford to have any server downtime. Turning to IT partner Blue Chip to provide advocacy on the best solution, Blue Chip suggested utilising their Private Cloud platform. The advantages of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for Crescent were numerous; for instance, their new Cloud infrastructure was hosted in one of Vodafone’s Tier 3, List X datacentres – one of only a handful in the UK, and offering maximum levels of security, resilience and failover. Selecting the Gold IaaS service from Blue Chip also meant that Crescent had guaranteed 99.99% uptime - a factor critical for their business. Migrating to the Cloud also negated the requirement for unnecessary capital expenditure to replace aged hardware, whilst removing the server from being on-premise eliminated the need for further storage space and additional overheads, such as power and cooling.

Importantly for a company so reliant on a dependable IT infrastructure, Blue Chip’s Gold IaaS service provides business continuity and disaster recovery facilities to a secondary datacentre to ensure that, in the unlikely event of a system failure, Crescent Racing would not suffer any data loss. Most vitally, with ISO9001 and ISO27001 accreditations, Crescent were assured that their infrastructure was in highly capable hands.

Blue Chip also implemented their Flexible Managed Service, ensuring that Crescent were fully supported 24/7, 365 days a year should any issues with other aspects of their IT arise, yet only pay for any time they used; a service which was both cost effective and highly available.

The result of Crescent Racing’s IaaS was that the team were able to work more efficiently with their infrastructure entirely taken care of, as well as being confident that their data was secure and any downtime would be minimal. Paul Denning at Crescent Racing said “Blue Chip listens to our business needs, and every time we work with them it always feels like they are advising us, not selling to us. We can focus on the important business of winning races, safe in the knowledge that our IT is being handled by experts, 24/7.”
