Leading recruitment agency 360 Recruitment approached IT specialist Blue Chip, to deliver a Unified Communications (UC) platform utilising their current Microsoft technologies.

The Client

360 Recruitment is the leading recruitment agency in the South, specialising in Permanent, Contract and Temporary recruitment for both Commercial and Industrial and Technical business.

360 had been researching a UC solution for some time and could see areas where it could provide them with operational efficiencies, improved customer communications and direct cost savings. A UC solution integrates the phone (calls, voicemail and conferencing), the computer (documents, spreadsheets, IM, email and calendars) and presence (location, status and availability).

Solution

Blue Chip implemented Microsoft Skype for Business, integrating it into its existing Exchange Server. The Microsoft Skpe for Business Client was installed on all desktops, laptops and smart phones. This Unified Communications tool allows 360 staff to locate their team across multi-site offices, find out their status - such as 'they are in a meeting' - and intelligently choose the most appropriate method of communication, whether that is via IM, email, voice or video call.

Success and Company Benefits

360 had previously experienced a large percentage of their working day lost to failed communication, resulting in delayed decisions, lost opportunities, wasted time and increased bills. The 360 team are now able to communicate more effectively - speeding up decisions and improving productivity. Furthermore, they have also found that intra-office call spend has reduced as all internal calls are made using Skype for Business. In addition, video conferences are now held in place of regular on-site meetings, which would require staff from all the offices to travel to a single location; this has significantly reduced travel time and expenses within the business.
